Hertel Offshore of the Netherlands has been awarded to provide living quarters, valued in around EUR 70m, for Statoil's Aasta Hansteen platform.
Hertel has been sub-contracted by Hyundai Heavy Industries of Korea, which builds hull and topside of the world's largest Spar platform, totalling around $1.9bn.
The Dutch contractor takes charge of engineering, design and construction of accommodation, due to be delivered in April 2015. The Spar offshore facility will be on stream in 2017.
The steel living quarters, with five floors and of 2,600 ton, will be based on a design which satisfies Norsok standards and Statoil requirements.
Meanwhile, since 2011, Hertel won a total of three living quarters supply contracts in Norway, including the latest one, following accommodation facilities for Shell’s Draugen oil field development and Statoil’s Valemon gas field projects.
