Reviews on Domestic Ship S&P (12.20-12.31)
Domestic secondhand bulker market sees further declines in ship assessment. Enquiries mainly focus on 3,000-5,000 dwt dry bulk carriers. Assessed value for five-year 5,000 bulker has been declined to $1.4 million and the actual transaction price is likely to be lower.
Some buyers are looking for bulkers of 10,000-15,000 dwt at price of $2.5 million, which is still not so satisfying to shipowners. Besides, it is reported an 8-year 800-dwt dredging vessel were sold at $0.36 million.
The value for three-year 22,500 dwt bulker is relatively stable, demonstrating its prevalence in the market.
This period is either not so easy for secondhand tanker market. Some buyers enquire about 3,000 dwt dirty tanker and 600 dwt fuel ships while the demand for 4,000-5,000 dwt newbuilding tanker is declining. Shipowners estimate the price the 4,000-5,000 dwt new tankers will see further decline with more and more shipyards facing delivery difficulties.
Besides, there are some enquiries for large floating dock and 10,000 dwt deck barge.
In the period, newbuilding price continue the downturn with the falling steel price. Meanwhile, demolition market remains regular and the scrapping price witnesses little decrease.
