Naikai Scores 3 Cargo Ships

Japan-based Naikai Zosen secured orders for construction of three firm plus one option of 38,000 dwt general cargo vessels from two overseas owners.
According to foreign media and industry sources, delivery is planned in the second half of 2014. The builder might have been able to win the contracts backed by improved price competitiveness following a weak yen with a growing demand for energy saving vessels.
The new vessel is said to boast its optimized bow shape, equipped with an electronically controlled engine along with a longer diameter propeller and energy saving addition applied to boost fuel-efficiency greater.
