China Shipbuilding Industry Corp (CSIC) and China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC) are said to be finalizing VLCC newbuilding contracts with China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES).
CSIC’s Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corp and CSSC’s Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding are reportedly set to win three VLCCs and two options respectively.
Newbuilding price is estimated to be around $85m per vessel and delivery is set in 2014 and 2015.
Meanwhile, last month it was also reported that CSSC's Shanghai Jiangnan Changxing Shipbuilding won three VLCCs with three more options from CMES.
