Japan's Sasebo Heavy Industries turns out to have been awarded orders to build three medium-sized bulkers - one 77,000-dwt and two 84,000-dwt - during October-December period in 2012.
Sasebo reported final accounts on January 31, which also said it inked a total of three newbuildings during the fourth quarter.
Especially, the 84,000-dwt bulkers are Sasebo's newly developed size.
For this fiscal year, from April 2012 to March 2013, Sasebo now records overall seven new orders, including two 75,000-dwt bulkers, three 77,000-dwt bulkers and two 84,000-dwt. As of the end of December, 2012, the shipyard stood at 11 vessels on the book.
Meanwhile, recently contracted a pair of 84,000-dwt bulkers are said to be placed from Greek owner Quintana Shipping.
