COSL Plans OSV Expansion

China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) plans tonnage expansion of offshore supply vessel.
An official from COSL revealed that the company is aiming to support offshore field development with its expanded OSV tonnages, currently totals around some 50, during 'OSV World Forum'.
According to him, China secures around 180-some OSVs and COSL has about 60% shares of them.
CEO Jiang Qiang of China's private-owned Sinopacific said that China's oil development project in South China Sea is an opportunity and hope to strengthen cooperation with domestic oil companies.
Meanwhile, state-owned China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) said that offshore has become one of its strategic sectors, with construction experiences of semi-submersible drilling rig 'Hai Yang Shi You 981' and ultra-large deep-sea exploration vessel 'Hai Yang Shi You 720'.
CSSC showed its determination to work hard to achieve CNY 20bn ($3.16bn) of profits from offshore segment by 2015.
