On September 6, Jinling Shipyard signed a newbuilding contract with Bermudan owner Global Car Carrier Co., Ltd for the construction of six 6,700-unit car carriers. This is the biggest order Chinese shipbuilder secured.
The newbuilding projects will be supervised by Norway-based owner Gram Car Carrier A/S. The newbuilt units will install Trim Wedges/PBCF system and is to be delivered by 2014.
