Germany's Rickmers Group is eyeing newbuilding orders in both heavylift and mega-boxship sectors.
Rickmers Linie is reportedly considering ordering multipurpose heavylift ships as today's asset prices have fallen greatly.
It is expecting the newbuilding price is a little under $30m per ship.
Rickmers Holding, the group’s shipowning arm, is also mulling placing orders for up to 13,000TEU containerships.
As newbuilding orders for mega-boxships have almost ground to a halt this year, the company may order state-of-the-art containerships later this year or early next year.
