German owner Transeste Schiffahrt is offloading a supramax newbuilding close to completion at China’s Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry.
The company confirmed that a deal for the 57,000-dwt Wiking is close with Chinese buyers. Brokers said the vessel is going for $27.5m.
The price would represent an increase from $25m for resales at the start of the year in a rising market.
