According to brokers, Hong Kong-based Seaspan Corporation has acquired four Panamax container vessels from bankrupt South Korean container carrier Hanjin Shipping through a bank sale. The seller is a consortium of banks led by the Export Import Bank of Korea and Germany-based HSH Nordbank.
Each of the four containerships, Hanjin Kingston, Hanjin Gdynia, Hanjin Atlanta and Hanjin Monaco, has the capacity of 4,275 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
