Hyproc Shipping, a subsidiary of Algerian state energy company Sonatrach, has ordered a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier at China's Jiangnan Shipyard with an option for one more vessel.

According to Sonatrach, the vessel will have a capacity of between 11,000 and 13,000 cum, and the contract value is approximately US$40m.

Currently, Sonatrach owns a fleet of ten LPG carriers through its subsidiaries Hyproc Shiping and Sonatrach Petroleum Corporation.
