Eastern Pacific continues to build its capesize fleet, brokers report. The shipping giant is linked to the purchase of Japanese resale. The Singapore-headquartered outfit is said to have taken Imabari-built Aquacaro for US$32.6m from an unidentified Japanese owner.

The purchase is the second 180,000dwt cape Eastern Pacific has snapped up this year. In mid-January, it paid US$35m for Megalodon from Star Bulk Carriers.
