Euroseas Takes Newbuild Bulker,Hires Out Boxship
Greek shipping company Euroseas Ltd took delivery of its newbuild Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier Xenia and entered into a two-year time charter for its container carrier Evridiki G.
The bulker named Xenia was delivered from China-based Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding on Feb. 26. It is an "eco" design Kamsarmax fuel efficient bulker with a carrying capacity of 82,000 dwt.
The vessel has commenced a time charter contract until January 2020 at a gross daily rate of US$14,100 and the charterer has an option to extend the charter for an additional year at a gross rate of US$14,350.
The shipping company has also entered into a time charter contract for the container ship Evridiki G. The containership has been hired for a gross daily rate of US$11,000 for a period of two years. Evridiki G is an intermediate container carrier with a cargo capacity of 2,556 teu.
