China's Shanghai Shipyard has just penned an order for four 4,800-teu containerships with Norwegian shipowner Ship Finance International (SFI) on April 8th. The newbuildings are valued about $230m in total and due for delivery in 2013.
The newbuilding ship type would be jointly tailored by the yard and Shnghai Ship Design Institute for buyer. With lower fuel consumption and stronger endurance, its comprehensive performance would go head of the others of the same type domestically. The ships feature 255 meters in length, 37.3 m in breadth and 19.6 m in height with increased container capacity and lower fuel consumption.
