Japan's Tsuneishi Shipbuilding has inked an order to build two kamsarmax dry bulk newbuildings from Great Eastern Shipping Company.
Tsuneishi's Phillippines-based shipyard will build a pair of 81,600-dwt vessels, according to Great Eastern's BSE Ltd. (Bombay Stock Exchange) statement.
The Bombay-listed shipping company said the newbuildings are slated for delivery in 2015-2016.
"The contracted ships, of about 81,600 DWT each, will be built according to the new design features which will result in greater fuel efficiency and in compliance with energy efficiency design index requirements," the statement added.
