Japan Marine United (JMU) won an additional contract from Norwegian shipowner Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Skipsrederi (KGJS) to build Kamsarmax bulkers.
Back in January, JMU had been awarded a newbuilding order for three 81,000 dwt plus many options of bulkers from the owner. Recently, two options were officially exercised, according to industry sources and brokers.
Its newbuilding price is estimated at above $30m apiece and the first unit is planned for delivery in 2014.
Meanwhile, the newbuilding series are 50:50 owned by KGJS and JP Morgan Global Maritime Investment Fund.
