Sainty Shipbuilding (Yangzhou) of China’s Sainty Marine Corporation is likely to win an order for construction of six 64,000 dwt bulkers from Sainty Marine’s wholly owned subsidiary, Smooth Shipping, which is in line with the owner’s newbuilding project and charter agreements.
The 64,000 dwt newbuilds are eco-friendly vessels designed by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI) and the construction will commence within this year, slated for delivery from 2014 in order.
Meanwhile, according to Yizheng Economic and Information Technology Commission, Smooth Shipping recently inked a lease and sale agreement for 12 64,000 dwt bulkers and six of which are to be built by Sainty Shipbuilding on the basis of a newbuilding charter agreement.
