The Hong Kong-listed and China’s large privately-owned Rongsheng Heavy Industries has won a large order from Greek shipowner Golden Union.
Industry sources have said that the china’s largest private shipbuilder inked a deal to build four 180,000 dwt bulkers plus four options, which are slated for delivery in order from 2015.
The newbuildings are reportedly costing around $45-46m apiece, which is slightly below the value of the same type of vessels won by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.
Meanwhile, Golden Union has secured 12 vessels on its backlog being constructed at Gunsan shipyard of Hyundai Heavy Industries of Korea, COSCO Dalian Shipyard of China and etc.
