Bahrain-based energy group AGODCO Group is planning to order up to eight small LPG carriers soon.
The company's CEO, Adam Harcourt has announced that AGODCO will place an order for four to eight eco-friendly LPG carriers around this summer, intending to take delivery in 2014-2015.
According to an industrial source, the vessel type is expected to be in the range of 3,000-11,000 cbm and Japanese shipyards are likely to be awarded.
Early this year, the energy group is said to have inked an order for two 7,200 cbm LPG carriers with Japan’s Kyokuyo Shipyard for around $22m per ship. The latest newbuilding program is also seen to be contracted with the same shipyard.
