On April 8th, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard signed a newbuilding contract for the construction of four 64,000dwt bulkers with Hong Kong’s Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Holdings. The contract also includes four optional units. Chengxi has successfully secured new orders for nine vessels of 477,400dwt since the beginning of this year.
It is reported that new vessel is “Dolphin 64” designed by SDARI which is more energy-efficient, environmental friendly and more safe.
Wah Kwong is an long-term partner with Chengxi and has ordered seven 53,000dwt bulkers and two 35,000dwt bulkers at the shipyard.
