CMIH Bags Jack-up Order

The shipbuilding arm of China Merchants Group, China Merchants Industry Holdings (CMIH), has bagged a jack-up rig order from Landmark Drilling.
The contract consists of 2+1+1+1 jack-up rigs, each worth around US$220m, and capable of operating in water depths of 400ft and drilling to a depth of 35,000ft.
The first two units will be built at Jiangsu Haixin Shipping Heavy Industries located in Nantong, which was purchased by CMIH last year.
“The contract has been signed on Tuesday, and the units will start to be constructed soon. It is an EPC construct, we will be fully in charge of the deal,” an official from CMIH’s Shekou shipyard told SinoShip News.
