United Arab Shipping Corp (UASC) is said to carry forward its ultra-large newbuilding boxship project in partnership with China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL).
Sources said both companies are seeking to book five of the 18,000-teu containerships with deliveries starting from 2016 onwards and are in talks with shipyards.
Also, it is reviewing whether to install M-type MEGI propulsion system on the vessels or not.
Meanwhile, it is said that shipyards in Korea and China participated in the technical proposal and will hand in commercial offers by this month.
