Samsung C&T and GDF Suez are said to be the final contenders for Uruguay's floating LNG import terminal.
The Korean company and French firm are reportedly the favored candidates for the job of providing an LNG-FSRU and associated jetties and breakwaters under a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) deal.
Uruguay's authorities want to install a 10-million-cbm-per-day capacity FSRU at Punta Sayago near Montevideo port.
A smaller facility working together with a floating storage unit (FSU) is also an option.
The project winner is expected to be decided by the middle of this year.
