John Fredriksen, which just booked up to 14 newbuilding capesize bulkers at China-based shipyards, is said to be in another newbuilding discussions with Chinese shipyard and continue its ordering spree.
Sources said the Norwegian shipowner is in talks with state-owned Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corp (DSIC) for up to eight capesize bulkers, including options, which will join Frontline 2012's bulker fleet.
Also, it is said that Fredriksen and DSIC have come to conclusion of vessel specifications and the firm contract would be signed at the end of February or early March.
Meanwhile, Frontline 2012 placed orders at Korea's STX Offshore & Shipbuilding's Dalian yard and Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for 4+4 181,000-dwt bulkers and 4+2 vessels each, at around $46m-47m with delivery in 2014 and 2015.
