Deutsche Afrika-Linien(DAL)/John T. Essberger Group is reportedly ordering two feeder containerships at a Chinese shipyard.
The German shipowner is to secure many options to build more same-type vessels.
The new-generation 2,200TEU feeder vessels are expected to be worth around $25m each with delivery expected in the second half of 2014.
The newbuildings would be built to a design by the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI).
