Russia's Murmansk Shipping is planning to order 10 newbuildings by 2015.
General director Alexander Medvedev said, "Today the issue is the construction of ten ships. There are already direct agreements on this score."
He said the vessels would meet the requirements of environmental safety and energy-efficiency.
Industry sources say the newbuildings to be ordered would be mainly ice-class coal carriers.
