Chinese Ship Export Falling
China's total amount of ship export has been decreasing.
According to the General Administration of Customs of China, during the first 11 months of 2012, China's total amount of ship exported declined by 8.1% year-on-year to $36.57bn, while that of ship imported increased by 1.1% to $1.66bn. Korean shipbuilders exported a total of $39.7bn ships in the full 2012.
Total amount of ship traded in China marked $38.23bn, decreased by 7.1% on the same period of the previous year.
During the same period, bulker accounted for 55.3% of total ship export, with $20.24bn.
As for ship type/size, which surpass $2bn of export, bulker under 150,000 dwt saw 10.4% year-on-year drop to $14.45bn and bulker sized 150,000-300,000 dwt decreased by 15.7% to $4.78bn. Boxship under 6,000 teu marked $2.41bn with a sharp increase by 95.2% and floating and semi-submersible drilling rig and production platform exported total $2.23bn, up by 72.2%.
Chinese shipyards exported $21.25bn, 6.6% more than the same period of 2011, to Asian countries, accounting for 58.1%.
