President Anastasios Margaronis questions the merits of eco-design ships and says yards are exaggerating the savings.
He said “The eco ships should not be the reason why someone should invest in the newbuilding. There is no harm done buying an eco ship, but the most important factor is the correct timing of that purchase.”
Cash-rich Diana now plans to invest in both second hand bulkers and newbuildings and says it will wait a big longer for the yards to offer better terms and prices.
