Zhejiang Changhong Shipbuilding has secured an order for two 28,000-dwt ships from China Changjiang Shipping Group Phoenix (CSC Phoenix).
According to market sources, CSC Phoenix is scheduled to take delivery in May and August next year.
The company is said to be paying CNY 189m ($29m) for the pair, which will be employed on the domestic and nearsea trades.
One of China’s largest inland shippers, CSC Phoenix is an active player on the shipbuilding front.
During the past three years, the company is said to have booked around 50 newbuildings of between 4,000 dwt and 93,000 dwt for coastal and international trading.
