Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering signed a contract to build a total of two tuna purse seiners.
The Korean shipbuilder contracted with Sajo Industries and Sajo Oyang for each of one vessel.
The newbuilding is the same 1,900-ton purse seiner, of which Sajo Industries placed an order at Sungdong in 2010.
Installed with state-of-the-art equipment, newbuildings will be delivered one by one from the end of 2013.
With increasing replacement demand, sources forecast that fishing vessel market will become blue ocean to the shipyards, suffering from troubled market.
Meanwhile, Sungdong has built the first Korean-made purse seiner in August of 2012 and delivered it to Sajo Industries.
