Tokyo Gas, now running nine LNG carriers, plans to expand its shipping operation.
With a purpose to increase domestic dependency in supplying LNG, Tokyo Gas executive vice-president Shigeru Muraki said "We prefer to use our own fleet."
Meanwhile, only one LNG carrier is thought to be owned outright while in several ships the equity stake through its Tokyo LNG Tanker Co.
