Chilean line CSAV has tendered with Asian shipyards as it looks to build post-panamax containerships.
The operator is reportedly planning to build as many as 10 vessels of 10,000TEU.
Brokers say the tender has been placed with five Korean yards, two Chinese and one Japanese.
In 2010, CSAV was understood to be in talks with yards in the Far East for five 8,000TEU vessels at around $95m each.
