Thai shipowner Precious Shipping is said to be close to concluding two 33,800-dwt handysize bulker resales from a Chinese shipyard.
The owner is acquiring two bulkers from China’s Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, brokers said.
It is picking up the 33,800-dwt ex-Free Orion and ex-Free Perseus (built 2012) for a reported $19.4m apiece.
The two ships were originally ordered by FreeSeas, but were cancelled after the Greek owner failed to make the final payment.
