OSX Converts FPSOs
Petrobras awarded an around $900m contract to OSX to convert two floating production storage and offloading units, with the option for a third such unit.
The Brazilian shipbuilder said in a filing that it had won the job for units P-67 and P-70, with the option for the work on P-72 or P-73.
The work will be handled by a joint venture between OSX CN and Mendes Júnior Trading e Engenharia, which will have stakes of 49% and 51%.
The units are scheduled for delivery in 49 months and 60 months respectively. Petrobras may take the option for the third in the next 18 months.
“With the largest offshore investment program in the world, Petrobras has now become the fourth client to hire OSX’s Açu Shipbuilding Unit, and we are very proud of it," OSX' CEO Carlos Bellot said.
