Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering has won an order for four 51,200-dwt ECO MR chemical carriers from a Greek owner in the end of July, 2012.
These newbuilding quartet, valued at around $34m apiece, are slated for delivery in the first half of 2014.
Sources said that the Korean shipyard recently contracted a total of six MR tankers, including a pair of newbuilding option, with Aegean Shipping.
These ECO ships, based on energy-efficient design, has completed tank test and will save about six-ton fuel a day, comparing with existing MR vessels.
Following after 1,000-teu containership, signed in June of this year, Daesun continues to pile up its orderbook.
