Atlantic Offshore is to order a new emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) after it clinched a five-year deal with oil major Shell in the British sector of the North Sea starting in 2014 with an option for a further five years.
“We will operate a well-equipped FSV-ship (Field Support Vessel), certified to rescue up to 300 people, on the Gannet oilfield east of Aberdeen,” says CEO Roy Wareberg.
The company said it will soon decide which yard will win the order for the FSVs it will operate for Total and Shell UK.
