Oshima Shipbuilding of Japan has penned an order for one 38,000-dwt bulker from Danish owner Ultrabulk, with one additional option more.
The vessel is due for delivery in 2014.
This is the first time since 2007 that Oshima revealed its new order for handysize.
The 38,000-dwt eco-friendly bulker, 180m in length, 30m in breadth, limits daily fuel consumption to under 20 ton.
Also, being equipped with electronic controlled engine, etc., the vessel enables to reduce CO2 emission more than 15% against existing handysizes.
