Korea's Samjin Shipbuilding Industries, located in Weihai, China, has signed a contract for two 36,000-dwt eco-friendly bulkers with German owner Oldendorff Carriers, with optional two more.
The firm contract is known to have finalized on June 21. The newly-developed handysize bulkers, due to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2013, have enhanced fuel efficiency, equipped with 35-ton crane, ballast water treatment system, etc.
Oldendorff said shipyards are working hard to develop Green ships, to survive and maintain new order competitiveness.
