Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) has inked an order for a newbuilding ro-pax ferry, valued at $63.7m, from UK-based Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL).
The vessel, due for delivery in June 2014, will have a capacity for up to 700 passengers and 143 cars or 20 commercial vehicles.
Lloyds Banking Group was selected to provide operating lease finance for the new vessel.
On delivery, CMAL will then charter the vessel to Clyde and Hebrides Ferry Services.
Meanwhile, FSG recently contracted to build for two seismic ships for WesternGeco, its first orders from the seismic sector and won orders for  two multi-functional heavy lift transport ships.
