China: Ship Trade in Decrease

China's ship trading has started to slide down.
According to statistical report from the General Administration of Customs of China, during January-April 2012, China's total ship trade stood at $13.8bn, down by 0.3%, year on year, of which export increased by 2% to $13.2bn and import declined by 28.4% to $600m.
In April alone, around $2.9bn of ships were exported, down by $500m on previous month, while import for April plummeted to $164m, down by 43.7%, year-on-year.
Sources analyzed that China's ship trading has entered a stagnancy.
Meanwhile, of all those ships exported from January to April, bulker, tanker, and boxship took the largest part, accounted for 76% with $10.2bn.
