CSIC Eyes Japan with Green Ship
China Shipbuilding Industry Corp (CSIC)'s top manager visited Japan and held a business information session with officials from Japanese maritime industries including local shipowners.
Vice President Dong Qiang said, "CSIC would like to provide fuel-saving technologies amid strengthening global environmental regulation."
He introduced CSIC's state-of-the-art energy-efficient ships which reduced exhaust gas emission.
Dong said, "It takes quite a long time to settle down over-tonnage in the shipping world."
Added, "In order to deal with recently tightened environmental control or growing fuel costs, we have successfully developed China's first low-carbon ship."
CSIC has developed fuel-efficient types in VLCC, LR2/MR product carrier, capesize bulker, etc, he said.
