South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries has set offshore wind turbine business as its new growth and is working to take over European market.
Samsung has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Fife state council and the Scottish Development International to cooperate for offshore wind power project in the end of January.
Samsung would install 7MW offshore wind turbine on the coast of Fife and construct electricity transmission network.
With a successful entrance into Scottish wind power market, Samsung plans to win international approval on its offshore wind turbine and enter into overall UK, which takes about 30% of European offshore wind power.
