India’s Great Eastern Shipping Wednesday delivered the second very large crude carrier to its buyer in its resales of three VLCCs.
Broker reports showed earlier that those three vessels were sold at $105m apiece to Maersk Tankers.
GES ordered three VLCCs converted from suezmaxes at Hyundai Heavy Industries in April 2010, but later announced it had decided to re-sell all of them en bloc.
GES said it handed over the 318,000 dwt Ardeshir H Bhiwandiwalla to its buyer right after taking delivery at HHI’s yard Wednesday.
“This is the second vessel out of the three VLCCs,” the company said. “The third VLCC will be delivered in April 2012.”
