Scorpio Tankers is tipped to be shedding three of its smallest ships.
New York-listed Scorpio is said to have posted for sale signs on the 40,200-dwt STI Conqueror (built 2005) and the 2003 built duo STI Gladiator and STI Matador.
TradeWinds is told the tankers are up for grabs at about $54m en bloc.
Emanuele Lauro, CEO of Scorpio, was not immediately available for comment at the time of writing Wednesday.
Sources explain it makes sense for the company to sell the vessels at decent prices given the present discount in its share price.
Scorpio paid $76m for the vessels in April 2010 following its listing.
Brokers say there is increased interest in products tankers right now given the prospects for the sector look brighter than on the crude side.
