Scrapping Prices Decline Further in November

In November, international average scrapping price continue the downturn momentum. 15k-25k LDT crude oil tanker, 6k-10k LDT product tanker and 7k-12k LDT bulker are respectively scrapped at $503.4/LDT, 501.81/LDT and 479.54/LDT, declining by 3.59%, 3.33% and 4.58% month-on-month.
According to the statistics, globally 100 vessels of 2,745,538 dwt were concluded for demolition, 33.3% up in volume and 5.13% down in tonnage on month-on-month basis. The average age is 30.18-year-old, growing by 3.45% compared with that of October.
Scrapping shipyards in China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and turkey won 529,268 dwt, 149,669 dwt, 115,400 dwt, 395,712 dwt and 19,284 dwt each.
In the whole month, totally vessels of 1.6m dwt were scrapped. China, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan’s scrapping tonnage stood at 400k dwt, 700k dwt, 30k dwt and 400k dwt.
