Swire Pacific Offshore unveiled an order to build four platform supply vessels (PSVs), following an order earlier this year for four similar vessels.
The new orders will be built at Universal Shipbuilding Corporation in Japan. The 5,000 dwt vessels with DP2 capability will be delivered progressively from early 2014.
Financial terms for the deal were not disclosed.
“We see large PSVs as an important market segment moving forward which will meet the requirements of our key customers,” said Neil Glenn, managing director at Swire Pacific Offshore.
