US-based cruise line Seabourn, part of Carnival Corporation, held a naming ceremony for Seabourn Encore, the first of two ultra-luxury cruise vessels ordered from Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, in Singapore on Jan. 7, 2017.

The 600-passenger cruise vessel was delivered to Seabourn in November 2016.

The 41,865 gross-ton vessel, which features a length of 210 meters and a width of 28 meters, is part of the company's fleet modernization program which kicked off in 2009.

"The launch of Seabourn Encore marks the start of a new era of ultra-luxury cruising," said Richard Meadows, President of Seabourn.

Following the christening ceremony, Seabourn Encore departed on its inaugural voyage, bound for Indonesia.

The second ship, Seabourn Ovation, is currently under construction and is set to be launched in spring 2018.
