PCTC Newbuild: 6th PCTC Joins Höegh Autoliners' Fleet
Norway-based shipping company Hegh Autoliners received Höegh Trotter, the firm's sixth New Horizon Pure Car Truck Carrier (PCTC), in Xiamen, China, on Dec. 8, 2016.
The 75,717gt ship is the final Post-Panamax vessel to be delivered by China-based Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry to H?egh Autoliners in 2016.
With a deck space of 71,400 square meters and a carrying capacity of 8,500 car equivalent units, the PCTC has a higher door opening than H?egh Autoliners’ current vessels, enabling cargo up to 6.5 meters high and 12 meters wide to be loaded.
H?egh Trotter measures 200 meters in length and 36.5 meters in width.
The PCTC newbuild will sail in the East Asia to Europe trade on its maiden voyage and is thereafter planned to sail from Europe back to East Asia via Africa and Oceania.
