The Netherlands-based BigRoll Shipping has received the third of four MC-Class module carriers BigRoll Baffin from Chinese builder Cosco Dalian Shipyard.

The Finnish Swedish 1A Ice Class MC Class vessels are specifically designed for the marine transportation of major modules and equipment for large energy projects both on and offshore, to some of the most remote and inaccessible areas on the planet.

Thanks to the large ballast capacity and the deck strength which is built up on a uniform grid of bulkheads and web frames, the ships can be used for both onshore and offshore heavy transport projects, according to BigRoll shipping.
