Greek-German outfit Interunity Interunity Management has picked up the 2010-built handysize bulker Apellis, previously owned by Greek owner Pyrsos Shipping. Brokers reported the sale at US$7.2m.
The vessel was sold at auction in Hong Kong after China's Beihai Maritime Court ordered its detention at Fangchenggang Port in July. The vessel was arrested at the request of Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard, who claimed it was owed around US$167,000 for repair works carried out in Zhoushan.
Interunity confirmed the deal, saying that the vessel had been delivered and will be renamed shortly.
